Web Design Case Study

Clement’s Kindness

A story-first website redesign that invites partners, donors, and the community into an incredible cause

Intro

A front door that feels like an invitation

Some causes don’t need a hard sell — they need a front door that feels like an invitation.

Clement’s Kindness supports Upstate families impacted by pediatric cancer and blood disorders: financial assistance, hospital partnerships, special outings, Camp Courage, and the quieter, everyday kindnesses that make a heavy season a little lighter. Their work is personal. Their community is real. Their website needed to match that heart.

Partners, donors, and families weren’t looking for a brochure. They needed a place that welcomed them into the story — clear enough to act, warm enough to trust, and human enough to feel like Clement’s Kindness.

Their Old Site

Decent visuals. Weak flow. Missed brand.

Visually, the old site wasn’t “broken.” It looked fine. In a sea of nonprofit websites, that almost made the problem harder to spot.

What it lacked was flow. The story jumped around. The brand — hopeful, personal, rooted in one family’s legacy of kindness — never quite landed. Navigation made sense on paper, but the experience didn’t pull people forward. And for an organization that lives on partnership and generosity, “fine” wasn’t compelling enough.

The site needed more than a polish pass. It needed a redesign that put people first: the children, the families, and the community standing behind them.

Our Strategy

Put the children’s stories front and center

We rebuilt the experience around one idea: put the children’s stories front and center.

Not as tragedy. As life. As healing. As joy that still shows up in the middle of hard things.

Story•first hierarchy

Family stories and real faces lead the narrative, so visitors connect before they’re asked to give.

Hopeful, not heavy

Photography and messaging lean into happy, healing moments — the outings, the courage, the community — without ignoring why the work matters.

Fun, inviting design

Color, type, and layout feel warm and approachable, so the site feels like a welcome rather than a wall of information.

Clear audience paths

Donors can give quickly. Families can find programs and support. Partners can see impact and opportunities to help.

Built to grow

Clean structure, strong UX, and an easy-to-edit WordPress setup so the team can keep sharing news, stories, and events without friction. The goal wasn’t a prettier page — it was a website that feels like Clement’s Kindness: kind, clear, and ready to bring people in.

The Finished Result

A homepage that invites people into the work

The new site opens with purpose and keeps the momentum going — from the hero invitation to programs, family stories, partners, and ways to give.
